My Father in law.
I try not to bring much memories or sadness.... but for this post i just want to share the pic of the wealth we offered to my father in law who just passed away on 19th October 2011 @5am.
It is sad but for human being this is what we can't avoid. However, we are really grateful and thankful for everything he has done for us and leave for us. We are lucky children and he was a great father.
Honestly, before and now that i become the son in law of Khou's family, i can smell the love, the cooperation and the solidarity between the siblings. Today, i truly can feel and i'm sure that what i can smell is the truth and it is existing in the family. I am lucky and i love them.

How I Meet My True Love
邱宝菁 I am 林炳龍 5很20 1314920 OOO
Since ever before, I always avoid a puppy love or short-term relationship. I don’t get into a relationship if my heart doesn’t tell she’s the one. Sprit up hurt either one or both, it is not good. Especially Cambodian culture that girl will be affected the worst.
My avoiding and was too serious before involving in a relationship, kept me single for so many years but it worth it. Now I found my soul mate, the right one! How do I know she’s the one? She is my best friend who I always have fun and enjoy when I’m with her. She is my sibling who is loyal to me, take care and protect me always. She is my spouse who gives me happiness, wonderful life and one own family. She is my teacher who I can learn from, and she’s my student who listens and learn from me. Her name is Khou Ching (邱宝菁).
In 2006, my aunt Jen told my mom and I about Ching and her very kind mother. She also told Ching’s mom about my very nice mother and me. One day Jen went to visit Ching’s mother and dragged me along. A few days later, Jen told my mom that Ching’s mother was interested in me but as her grandmother was very sick, they did not want to think about anything else. Since then everyone seemed forget about us, even Ching and I never even given it a thought.
December 2009, I was working in my office then my aunt Jen walked in together with Ching’s mother and her elder aunt. I did not remember or recognize her at all because it had been three years already. They pretended to be my customers, but I felt something connected. I felt warm and as if she was one of my relatives. We had a nice chit-chat more than customer and seller.
January 2010, at late night when I got home after school, mom told me to see her after dinner. I felt normal because I often talk with mom after my dinner alone. Got into her room, she told me the ladies Jen went to my office the other day were Ching’s mother and her elder aunt. Mom said Jen told her that they liked me….. while talking she handed me an envelope. These are the photos of the daughter, she explained. Looking at those photos for awhile I smiled at my mom and said “Maybe…!“ but I actually quite like her Chinese face already.
A few weeks later, my mom told me that my dad and she had saw Ching already and they liked her too. “Your dad rarely likes anybody easily“ she added.
February 01, 2010 I went to see Ching with my mom and Jen, but we pretended to be her customers. She was in her counter, I looked at her and she smiled while I already had been smiling at her. On the next day, my mom gave me Ching’s number but it took me until….
February 03, 2010 at 09:29pm I sent her a SMS and she replied at 09:33pm. That was our first awkward SMSs sent to each other. Since then, we started to talk to each other via SMSs, Yahoo IM, facebook and email. What made us attracted to each other was our honesty and being serious before involve in a relationship. That was what in common we first found in each other. We have the same value which is “I need you to love me for who I am, not who I can be“. As for this value, every single conversation we make, we always tell the truth about us, be honest and be who we really are.
February 14, 2010 was Chinese New Year, at the same time it was the Valentine’s day as well. It took me days to be brave enough to ask her out on a first date, because it was the perfect combination of two occasions. It gave her a hard time to reject my invitation because we just know each other but she did not want to upset me. Moreover, she already had a plan with her family members and friends to go to KTV at Naga World. Eventually, she asked if I would like to join. I do not like KTV and I felt uncomfortable to meet many new people at once. However, I did not want to miss the perfect combination of two occasions, so I accepted her invitation, and I did break the ice.
After that day, we went on many enjoyable and great dates. We learn a lot about each other, and know more about each other. I told myself that I like her, then I changed my facebook status to “In a Relationship“
April 14, 2010 it was Khmer New Year. We had a very wonderful date, we went to many places and did many activities together…… had so much fun like secondary school kids. In the evening, I took her to dinner at TITANIC Restaurant and I gave her some gifts included a scroll which I wrote a message for her. In the message i said “You are my sun at day, and you are my moon at night. I Love You. PS: sun and moon always exist!“ I wished she read it right after I gave it to her so that I can say the three words verbally, but she didn’t. However, she knew what the message was about.
April 19, 2010 I received a wonderful facebook message from her. It was a very long message but I never got lazy to read it over again and again. In the message she said “I Love You too“ with many reasons and explanations. Her facebook status then had been changed from “Single” to “In a Relationship“
May 13, 2010 was our “Official Date“ we had dinner at Sky Bar at The Place. It was our first romantic date. After dinner, we walked from one park to another park, watched a Khmer Rock Band concert The Dengue Fever. That was the first time I hold her hand and we got to HHWW (holding hands while walking).
Since then, we always have romantic dates and many of them. There was once, after a movie we holding hands while walking for one and half hour without feeling tired, though one of my boots had been detached.
When you meet the right person who is your soul mate, no matter how slow you try to make it but it just move fast itself. Our hearts tell us we are mean to be together. We love each other for real.
July 06, 2010 after lunch we were sitting in a couch, I then stood up in front of her and knelt down. One hand I held her hand, another hand I put in my pocket and took out a red box in a heart shape and there was a ring in side. I popped the question! She did not reject but said it was too early for us and she preferred the ring represents our love instead and requested to wait until 11/11/2011.
I understood and we did not want to get married too early either, but because I consider our parents are old and they have many responsibilities for us to take over. That was why I decided to propose her. Plus, I wanted to make her happy and to have that special moment. Girls always expect to have a romantic moment, sweet memories and to have her boyfriend’s proposal that is the most desire they wish for before get married. Therefore, there I did so. Today, the ring is still on her left ring finger!
Our families, our current and future responsibilities and considering the time, plus we truly love each other. 11/11/2011 plan has become an old plan.
September 19, 2010 was our engagement. In the morning, we had our relatives come together introducing them to the new couple officially. Then we had them had lunch at Tunlé Basak Buffet restaurant. After that, we had photo session that was our Engagement Photos. Those photos turn out very nice in quality, meaning and story. Thank to our friend Vantha THAI (Jerry) and Hii Wie Jung for taking such great pictures for us.
I am lucky to have my parents who always understand, warm, they give me a comfortable life, happiness, and love. My sister and brother in law are thoughtful, kind and helpful people. Now I have my parents in law who are thoughtful, nice, kind, warm and love me. My sister in law and her hubby also are well-educated people who are understanding, care and helpful.
It is very fortunate to meet your soul mate, and the families in law members are good people and love you and they get along very well together like best friends.
This is rare but real! I am so lucky!
January 02, 2011 will be our wedding, here I announce. We are working on our wedding theme and scheme.........
.........To be continued

The Last Random 2009 and The Beginning of 2010

DECEMBER 2009 - JANUARY 2010
I have not been active for my blog pretty long, because have been busy with school and also lazy too....... another reason is that, everyone has facebook and i am active there. Sharing stuffs and photos........ so it's kinda holding me back from blogging (^_^)
Alright, on this post i gotta update a few things at once hehe.
Life over the year 2009 was not bad, a lot of fun and love people gave to me who are my family, friends and relatives. However, life is just like a roller coaster. Sometimes up sometimes down, but roller coaster is fun and exciting, isn't? I remember this words, Suzan gave me as an encouragement.
I did not get to celebrate or countdown for the New Year's Eve, however i did have some fun.
A party gathering with my MBA classmate at SeaFood Restaurant and continued to KTV.
Went to a countryside and enjoyed a lot of country life and activities.
Attended Jacky's wedding who is my good friend since first year at the university, he got married to one of my nieces who we have never met. I know it's funny, but what was funnier than that, my dad was invited to the wedding by the bridge's parents and i was invited by the groom. We did not know that we were going to the same wedding, until we individually got there then we realized it was the same wedding and the bridge was our relative.
In this photo: Chantha, Gina, Spencer, Jenny, and the groom and bridge.
My sister, her husband and the two girls in France having an awesome holiday during the Christmas and New Year's Eve. They went there last year in summer and again at the end 2009 and beginning of 2010. That was way cool!

The countryside one hour drive from Phnom Penh. It was thankful to Savory my classmate who invited us to her hometown. I had a great time!!!
The last picture, our classmates' party just after we had an awful Accounting Midterm exam........phew!

If I tell you lie or truth...
Having seen the pictures what do you think? If I were to tell you he's my son, you don't believe because you know I lie about this. If I tell you the truth that he's my grand-nephew, of course, you find it's funny. But it's true, man! It's nice to have a grand-nephew while you are still young (",)

Jerry's Birthday
I had a strange feeling when I attended Jerry's birthday this evening. I felt like celebrating a birthday party is childish. I know it's normal to celebrate and have fun.... but, i don't know why i felt singing a birthday song, giving gift, the birthday cake.... they seem are children to me. I always had a present for Jerry each year, but this year I didn't buy him any gift. Instead, I just treated him lunch and SWENSEN's Ice Cream.
Having said that, it doesn't mean i don't like receiving gift. I love the way people giving present because it is sweet, but i am not materialistic. I don't love present but i just love the gesture.
The Super Choc Brownie at SWENSEN's Ice Cream. I bet you remember how good it was i mentioned in my old post.

Jerry, my best friend ever. We are like brothers, though he is my newphew and i'm the uncle (",)
Yuthysak, Jerry's son and that makes me become a grand-uncle (^.^)

The parents and the son.

Khmer New Year 2009
This year my plans have not worked out as i planned or expected. Those plans were studies, scholarships, and even vacation plans. This Khmer New Year i have a week off and i planned to go to Laos but it wasn't possible. Then i changed the plan to go to Chiang Mai instead, but i could not go. The situation in Thailand is not safe because of the political protests. Plus Thai's troops coming into Cambodia's territory and the dispute at the Phrah Vihear Temple.

It was a miscommunication, they did not go to Koh Kong for over night, but one night in Kompongsam and Koh Kong just a stop by. Therefore, i did not go with them though my parents and i already arrived at their house at 5 O'clock in the morning with our suitcase. We call our driver to come back and send us back home.
My cousins insisted us to go with them but my dad and I refused. They tried to convince my mom to go and they eventually came to pick her up. My mom was lucky, at Koh Kong she met my other cousins and her family whose plan to stay over night at Koh Kong, so that my mom joined them instead.
As for me, staying at home palying JX2 online game around the clock. Sometimes hang out with Jerry at his house and at a cafe, that's all.
Anyway, I had a good time with my parents in Battambang though. Battambang

In this picture belove, the first one is the night street food court where we can enjoy delicious snack and cheap price as very simple life. The second picture is my ant's house. She sells many thing at her house, you can find anything like toys, medicines, stationery, some electrical products, sport balls, snacks, fuel, costmetic products, cassette music and even dogs. We called it a one-stop-shop.

Phnom Sompov (ship mountain). The picture on the right, is a huge statue of the mountain heigh under construction. It's there since the last time i went there was 5 years ago. I think they leave it there because lack of fund.

The old gate in this picture below has a scary story. It had been tried to bring down but everyone who did so died. So now they have to leave it there for good.

Beach Party on New Year's Eve
Over the last week of the year, I had a lot of fun times. Christmas party at my friends' house, my nephew's wedding in Siem Reap, Hang out with many of our relatives, Reunion lunch with my university friends, New Year's Eve beach party with relatives and new friends who mostly are girls, Big relatives dinner at Le President last night, there were 5 tables all of our relatives. actually there were more than 50 of us. After the dinner they continued to Karaoke, but I did not join because I had to work on the next day.
Wednesday 31, after a half day work at the office, I had lunch with my UC friends at Sorya Mall. From the left to right: Rath, Sim, Jenny, Sochan, Spencer, Gina and Kits but he's behind the camera.
We enjoyed the lunch, talking, catching up with each other. After the lunch we continued to Swensens Ice-cream. I loved it! The ice-cream was the most delicious and i enjoyed it a lot, because Gina paid for us. hehe
After lunch and ice cream, i got a call from Khieng my nephew who's from France. He wanted to hang out. Once we met and gathered together with four of us, we talked about beach party which my neice Hong who's from USA mentioned to us on the bus on the way back from Siem Reap on Monday. We did not plan to join but then we decided to join them in Sihanukville. It was 3PM already but we still go without a plan and taking anything with us, but small amount of money that we had in our wallets.
The fire works for sales. Lots and lots of them!
We really enjoyed the road trip all the way from Phnom Penh to Sihanukville. We got there at 7PM. There were so many people there on the beahes. It was hard to get a spot to park our car, and we could not get a place to sleep. All guesshouses and hotels were full and the price three times increased. We gave up looking for it and headed to the beach and join the girls. There were.... oops! i did not count, but there were about 20 of us, mostly were girls hehe. (note that they are pretty and cute)
After countdown, we were there dancing until 2AM. We then drove around looking for a hotel, thinking if we could not get one we would not boder to sleep. Fortunately, we got a guesshouse which their price normally 10$, but that night it was 60$. Were we lucky or what? However, got a place to shower and sleep well.
Along the beach there were many of this. They were creative and i liked those.
Now enjoy these four videos of the activities on the beach.... countdown and fireworks.
In this video, we rotating the bottle, who this bottle points at will have to drink, sometimes empty their glass.
Unfortunately, i don't drink alcohol and i was behind the camera, so that i was kicked out.
On the Thursday 1st in the evening, we had reunion dinner with many of our relatives who come from different countries such France, New Zeland, USA. It was wonderful to gather with many of our relatives.
In this video are my nieces and nephews.

X-mas, Wedding, Hang out with many of my relatives
Well well well.... what to start first? Over the week, i had a few occasions in a row.
Firstly, it was on Friday 26th, I went to Victoria and Chris's house for a Christmas party.
After work i left my office at 5PM, stop by Lucky Shopper Market to buy some drinks and cookies for the party. Everyone knows that driving in Phnom Penh is annoying, irritating and frustrating. I was patient enough drove to a bank to withdraw some cash from ATM for next day trip to Siem Reap. There were many people waiting in a long line, I gave up and went to another bank. Unfortunately, my car battery died and i could not start my car. Luckily, Cambodians are nice and kind, they helped me connect my battery to another car's battery so that i could start my car. It was a funny evening, I could not find Cox's house and got lost. It was not a good evening, but also a lucky evening, anyway. I was saved again! I met Jim and he took me to Cox's house as he was going there too.
Alright! Now it's a good time! It was fun to meet many friends and new friends at the party. We had lots of food, played some games, told story about Jesus and so on.
Erin and I were in the same color. Looking twin :-)
Secondly, I went to Siem Reap on Saturday 27th to attend my nephew's wedding. It was a big wedding which took for the whole two days. However, elders were supposed to attend the whole wedding, but young people always have fun hanging out together. haha.
Once we arrived Siem Reap, the elders went to the wedding, but some and the youngs started to hang out. We went to the Musium, it is a nice and modern musium. I suggest everyone goes to Siem Reap should go to the musium.
Look at the wedding cake!!! It's the biggest wedding cake i ever seen.
Traditionally, the groom's parentes offer 32 kinds of fruit to the bridge's parents.
Guess what! I have so many relatives who live in Cambodia and abroad. I don't know all of them. It was a great chance attending the wedding, I met many of my relatives who i never known before.
In this picture are all my nieces and nephews. I am just a young uncle who is proud to have many nieces and nephews and they are beautiful and handsome! Among them, are from New Zeland, USA and France. However, they are good kids and proud to be Cambodians. They love their relatives, their country, their people....... They love their root!!!
Anyone knows which one is my hand? Well.... the one with two beauty spots :-)
This is Barkong temple where is 10km far from the town.
Standing at the back row are my cousins who are the parents of the front row who are my nieces and nephews.
I can play many kind of sports and activities, but i'm not good at them. Just can play haha.
Me and my nephew Kheing who studies in France.
We went to play pool, table tennis then we went to foreigner town where there are many restaurants and pubs. I don't drink beer or wind, but soft drink. They are understood people and don't force me to drink. We went to a pub, sitting in a outdoor table, drinking fruit shake and talking. I do like outdoor restaurants.
We hang out there until 1AM, we went to mart and bought some drinks and snack to our hotel and play card until 3AM.
Next day, we got back to Phnom Penh, and I invited all of my nieces, nephews and their parents to my house and had a big dinner in our garden.
Alright! that's all about the weekend. Hopefully, i will have a good time with friends and family on the New Year Eve. Then more photos and story to share on my blog. Keep updating ;-)
P.S: I already bought a new battery for my car (",)
