Couple 2nd Trip is further than 1st the Trip

Last week for the King's Birthday was the public holiday. It was such a good combination of celebration occasion.

Sunday was mother's day and we celebrated for our parents at NAGA World. Then Monday we went to Vietnam for a couple trip for 3 days.

We did enjoy it a lot, such a peaceful freedom independent and enjoyable trip.

We already have the next plan for our couple retreat which we will go further than Vietnam :-)

Experiencing the daily life of theirs.... hop on the bus from Ban Tanh to Siu Tieng only 5,000 Dong. so cheap!
if by taxi will be 1,025,000 Dong
In the snow castle

Get Away Weekend

We are going to run a small restaurant on 22/02/2012. We will be very busy for current business, job and the restaurant. Therefore, last week we got a way for two days at the weekend.

We were really satisfied and everything went out just like we expected. We stayed over night at Kirirom Hill Site Resort and there were no body but us. We enjoying playing tennis, swimming, site seeing, canoeing, rod sliding..... anything just us alone. Even on the way back home we dropped by Cambol and race the Go Kart. There only two of us were the guests and the rest were the staff.

Arrived in the city, we went to Kohpich for lunch and 4D ride (they call it 5D here), to Sovanna for 4D ride and game station, City mall for a 3D movie (Darkest Hour).

Market in Rattanak Kiri

SEPTEMBER 01st - 03th, 2011

Rattanak Kiri is the mountainous northeastern frontier province of Cambodia that borders Laos, Vietnam. It is approximately 600km from Phnom Penh, by a Van it would take 8h to 9h. I went there for two nights on mission. The plans were always changed because of the taxi arrangement did not come out as the plans.

Two nights there made me missed my city life a lot and i'm grateful that I live in the city. During the mission in Rattanak Kiri, i was like a bag packer, holding a 1.5L bottle of drinking water walking down the street during the rain. It was raining and showering all the time.

The town is small and the commercial area even smaller. Most people there walk because from one place to another is not far. Along a 100m road you can find all ministries down there. However, the town is so peaceful, i quite like it.

It was not useless for visiting there, i mean it pays off for my mission.

The water tower to supply the town. I did not find out how much the water per m3, but the electricity is more than 1000R which is more expensive than in the Phnom Penh City.

I rarely drink and once i do, it would be a glass for the whole session for me. I'm like the frozen glass though, it's attractive by the look.

Yeak Laom Lake is located about 5 kilometers southeast of central Banlung. It is a clear and deep lake of 50m and 800m of the diameter. It is a crater formed after a volcanic eruption over 4000 years ago.

Few years ago, people grew cashew but now everywhere is cassava.

Can you see the red-white tower? It was built by the French during the colonial era to monitor river traffic. It's on the east bank of the Mekong River, opposite Kampong Cham.

The Last Random 2009 and The Beginning of 2010

DECEMBER 2009 - JANUARY 2010

I have not been active for my blog pretty long, because have been busy with school and also lazy too....... another reason is that, everyone has facebook and i am active there. Sharing stuffs and photos........ so it's kinda holding me back from blogging (^_^)

Alright, on this post i gotta update a few things at once hehe.

Life over the year 2009 was not bad, a lot of fun and love people gave to me who are my family, friends and relatives. However, life is just like a roller coaster. Sometimes up sometimes down, but roller coaster is fun and exciting, isn't? I remember this words, Suzan gave me as an encouragement.

I did not get to celebrate or countdown for the New Year's Eve, however i did have some fun.
A party gathering with my MBA classmate at SeaFood Restaurant and continued to KTV.
Went to a countryside and enjoyed a lot of country life and activities.
Attended Jacky's wedding who is my good friend since first year at the university, he got married to one of my nieces who we have never met. I know it's funny, but what was funnier than that, my dad was invited to the wedding by the bridge's parents and i was invited by the groom. We did not know that we were going to the same wedding, until we individually got there then we realized it was the same wedding and the bridge was our relative.

In this photo: Chantha, Gina, Spencer, Jenny, and the groom and bridge.

My sister, her husband and the two girls in France having an awesome holiday during the Christmas and New Year's Eve. They went there last year in summer and again at the end 2009 and beginning of 2010. That was way cool!

The countryside one hour drive from Phnom Penh. It was thankful to Savory my classmate who invited us to her hometown. I had a great time!!!

The last picture, our classmates' party just after we had an awful Accounting Midterm exam........phew!

Khmer New Year 2009

SUNDAY-TUESDAY, APRIL 12-14, 2009

This year my plans have not worked out as i planned or expected. Those plans were studies, scholarships, and even vacation plans. This Khmer New Year i have a week off and i planned to go to Laos but it wasn't possible. Then i changed the plan to go to Chiang Mai instead, but i could not go. The situation in Thailand is not safe because of the political protests. Plus Thai's troops coming into Cambodia's territory and the dispute at the Phrah Vihear Temple.

Finally, i changed my plan to go to Battambang with my parents and after that to go to Koh Kong with my cousins and their families.

It was a miscommunication, they did not go to Koh Kong for over night, but one night in Kompongsam and Koh Kong just a stop by. Therefore, i did not go with them though my parents and i already arrived at their house at 5 O'clock in the morning with our suitcase. We call our driver to come back and send us back home.

My cousins insisted us to go with them but my dad and I refused. They tried to convince my mom to go and they eventually came to pick her up. My mom was lucky, at Koh Kong she met my other cousins and her family whose plan to stay over night at Koh Kong, so that my mom joined them instead.

As for me, staying at home palying JX2 online game around the clock. Sometimes hang out with Jerry at his house and at a cafe, that's all.

Anyway, I had a good time with my parents in Battambang though. Battambang is my beloved province where i was born, though we moved to Phnom Penh since i was a month old. Seeing the old places and relatives, and eating fantastic kinds of food in the province, makes me feel so peaceful and love.

In this picture belove, the first one is the night street food court where we can enjoy delicious snack and cheap price as very simple life. The second picture is my ant's house. She sells many thing at her house, you can find anything like toys, medicines, stationery, some electrical products, sport balls, snacks, fuel, costmetic products, cassette music and even dogs. We called it a one-stop-shop.

Phnom Sompov (ship mountain). The picture on the right, is a huge statue of the mountain heigh under construction. It's there since the last time i went there was 5 years ago. I think they leave it there because lack of fund.

The old gate in this picture below has a scary story. It had been tried to bring down but everyone who did so died. So now they have to leave it there for good.
Boeng Kam Pinh Puoy one of the tourist attractions in Battambang.
In Battambang there are very few gyms and they are very expensive. The place i went to in these photos was 10,000R per entery for gym, and 6,000R for swimming. In Phnom Penh the gym i go to is only 1,000R and swimming pool is various of 2$ to 3$.
Island boat in Pusath.
Cambodian dry food.
I found this picture is very interesting. This is the old statue which was replaced to the current one which you can see in the top picture of this post.
