UC Alumni BBQ 2009

I attended my university's alumni dinner which i was afraid it could be boring, and i wanted to go to gym instead. Fortunately, i went to the party, otherwise i would regret for not going to.

It was not boring, instead it was excited and fun to meet many old classmates and having catch up. It was a good opportunity to get connected again and exchange business cards that could be useful for business opportunities in the future.

The event started at 3pm. First, arrival of alumni and faculty members and election for Alumni Association's President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.

I could not attend at that time, however, i was not too late for the election just missed the candidates giving their speech.

These pictures below are the restaurants we went to.
This week i have been stressful because i am writing essays again. After work i hang out with Jerry. What was so funny, he was supposed to have dinner with the Singaporean man who's from ISO but he totally forgot about it and came to have dinner with me. Then his mom called and we had to finished up our dinner immediately and go to another dinner. Two dinner and two different restaurants!

Additional Information:
Wonder why i took this picture below? I can't help to complain about crazy drivers in Phnom Penh. There are many ridiculous car and motor drivers on the road, that is so irritating and frustrating. Everyone on the road is selfish and no respect others.

You see the idiot motor in this picture? When the traffic light was about turn to red, he speeded up but he did not make it through and he had to stop in the middle of the crossroad there because there were policemen in front. He had to wait there until the light turned green. It looked so so so ridiculous and stupid!

Lebanese Restaurant

This week Mark and I went to a fancy restaurant so that we had dinner instead of lunch. This time was different, very different, we went to a Lebanese restaurant, the one closed to Malaysian embassy. While waiting for Mark, i met Chris and Victoria and their kids stopped by. I like the conversation we had and little catch up. I'm glad the kids called my name. They remember me, yay! I love to have them meet my nieces, they must like each other a lot, but i wonder how to do that. My nieces speak Khmer and French, while Charis and Ilana speak English....

Honestly, I have never heard about Lebanese and i've never seen the flag even once. Now i got to eat at a Lebanese restaurant and saw their flag.... i think it's a strange flag with a Christmas tree.
The place was nice and fancy, but the food was so different and strange, it was not too bad at all though.
We sat on the rooftop where was an open space. The sky was about to rain, it was windy and cold. I love the before rain weather a lot :-)

Valentine Party

Valentine's day used to be a normal day for me, but this year my friends Victoria and Chris made it special for me. They celebrated a party had a theme of LOVE, and they used the Bible to teach the true meaning of Love combined with the games we played.
We had food and played many pair games such, Egg spoon race, Ballon toss, Bobbling for apple, Combining letters, Link up and Pictionary.

It was great, exciting and it was nice to meet our friends again after haven't seen each other for awhile. It's always a chance to meet new friend(s).














Egg spoon race, this game teaches us how to be patient because we can't be rush or we could drop the egg and lose the game. Which means Love is patient.


Ballon toss, we have to be kind and catch the water balloon gently, otherwise we would break the balloon and get wet. This teaches us how to be kind which means Love is kind.


Bobbling for apple, using your mouth to get the apple. It looks easy but then we had to get your head in the water in order to be able to bite the apple. This was when i got my head and shirt wet!


Link up, we have to stand up together by pushing your back against your partner. This how to work together and care of each other. Love is to care and be together.



Combing letters, Chris called for a word and we had to find the letters and form up to the word.


Pictionary, Steve tells your partner a word and your partner will draw the picture then you guess the word. This how you learn to understand each other (^.^)


This is a flowers whole seller in front of my office. These people come to get the flowers to sell on the Valentine's day! Thousands and thousands of roses were sold on the occasion. Wow!

Expensive great dinner & Humiliated

This evening Mark invited us (my sister and her husband, and i) for dinner at a high class restaurant "La Residence Restaurant"

It's a high class and of course expensive place with great atmosphere, design, great food with nice decoration and a famous Jazz band from Paris, "Philippe Javelle and Richard Bolsson"

The dinner was nice, delicious food, interesting conversation and stuffs.














This is my order "Grilled Sirloin Steak"

I always love potato and beef, especially "Mass Potato and Steak of medium cooked" Ermmmmm!









My dessert "Pudding of chocolate and pistachio mousse"

Wondering what my drink was? Of course "Coke Light" as always.









Now time to talk about humiliation. Don't worry, it did not happen at the restaurant or i will never go there again.
It's about my car..... again! The water tank leaking. While driving back home i heard the sound of water boiling, then i looked at the temperature meter... wow OMG! it was almost 100C. I then quickly gave indicators light and pull over. Opened the car head, thick smoke flied in to the air covering everything and i could not see. On the way trying to reach home, i had to stop and fill the water every 5 minutes. Therefore, i had to drive very fast challenging the time and the temperature increasing.

If i do not miss a number, i stopped and refilled the water 7 times until i got home.
Hey, i'm living in my wonderful home country with helpful and kind people. I always got help, at least there is someone stop by and asks if i am alright. I got the water from every place i stopped.
